8/25 Eikaiwa Afternoon Tea

Thanks to the nice weather, we were able to do Eikaiwa Afternoon tea at Central Park this past weekend.  I really enjoyed practicing English conversation with everyone. We learned new idioms and phrases and talked about our favorite places to visit in New York.  It was really great to exchange information with everyone.  Everyone could practice English and learn about new places in the city at the same time.

I was also delighted that Japion, New York’s Japanese newspaper, joined us at the event this weekend as well.  The people working at Japion are really lovely people and I am really glad that I had the opportunity to work with them.

I made three different kinds of sweets but unfortunately I completely forgot to take pictures this time!  I made matcha cookies, kinako mochi, and soy milk cocoa mini-cakes.  This picture is the only one that I have, which is of the soy milk cocoa mini-cakes.
